Sep 17, 2011 2:32 PM in response to s.illes79by EgonX,I'm having the same issues as s.illes79. As far, I see the artifacting ONLY in Finder.

Sep 19, 2011 10:12 PM in response to Hakko83by scottfromlake worth,I'm still using Snow Leopard on my 2008 MBP, & so far I had the artifacts happen twice. Both times with Firefox, so it can't just be a safari-related thing or Lion related.

Sep 20, 2011 11:34 AM in response to Hakko83by blacksteak,Hello,
I've ordered Apple Hardware Test CDs from Apple (€40) in order to smile or to cry. Now I've to wait 3-4 weeks for them to "be made!".
I was a little inspired tonight so I wrote that song (please listen The Big Three Killed My Baby from The White Stripes)
The big three killed my iMac
No money in my hand again
The big three killed my iMac
It won't even power on again
Its artifacts made me want to cry
A thousand dollars goes down the pit
30,000 pixels are dyin'
And my graphic card is swollen
Everything involved is shady
The big three killed my iMac
REPEAT 1
Why don't you take the day off and try to repair
A billion others don't seem to care
Better iMacs are stuck in the stores
The others runnin' on your 'macs' blood
Don't let them tell you the iMac's fantastic
Cause they're all made of black plastic
30,000 pixels are dyin'
And my own sad face is grinnin'
Now my hands are turnin' red
And I found out my iMac is dead
REPEAT 1
Well I've said it now, nothing's changed
All I have is pocket change
And my poor iMac is crazy
And the big three killed my iMac
And my Apple's my common sense
It'll feed me planned obsolescence
Yeah my Apple's my common sense
It'll feed my planned obsolescence
Am I about to buy another iMac
Am I about to buy another iMac
Obviously It's humor.

Sep 22, 2011 10:50 AM in response to Hakko83by esCullen,Also having this issue,
Brand New 27" iMac 2011 3.4 i7 16gs of Ram and the upgraded 2gig graphics card.
(all that and this comp isn't running perfectly?.. *** apple)
i have only had my computer for 2 months and use it for heavy motion graphics / vid editing. (AE, Cinema4d, FCP, ect..)
when rendering in AE and playing video in chrome and working in c4d.. (basic multitasking) i tend to get artifacts in the streaming video, on my apple icon, and the drop shadow of windows (chrome windows, illustrator windows, compressor windows, and window that the OS wants to put a drop shadow on).
I've also had full chrome pages turn blue when trying to stream video.
fought with apple care twice and even took it to an apple certified technitian in Mobile, AL.
The apple tech ran hardware tests and everything passed...
Still nothing fixed and not sure what to do.
If anyone finds out whats going on with this please update people here!
Thanks!

Sep 23, 2011 9:00 AM in response to esCullenby bill the plumber,Am having same issues as all others. Apple Care said it was the video card and to return to nearest Genius Bar... After reading all the posts I decided that Lion is the likely culprit. While running Lion and running only Finder, when brought out of sleep mode the artifacts would be present. I've since been running Snow Leopard on a seperate partition for the last 24 hours and no artifacts. Come on Apple. Apple Care also said that I was an isolated incident. This thread seems to be full of "isolated incidents"...

Sep 23, 2011 9:10 AM in response to bill the plumberby alessandro85,any developer that try last version 10.7.2 relese yesterday can tell if the issue was correct by apple?? thnx.....

Sep 23, 2011 1:00 PM in response to bill the plumberby nicholasbrave,I have had most of the same problems that are in this thread..
I have noticed that when I try to calibrate my color settings it goes NUTS, which really re-enforces the idea that it is the video card/software causing all of the problems. The errors are limited to finder for me. Usually appearing in my menu bars and the drop shadow behind my windows. If I restart the problems go away, but as soon as I start using any combintion of adobe products or 3d software, it pops up not long after.
My specs: brand new imac 27" 3.44 ghz i7, 16gb 1333 ddr3 ram, os version 10.7.1

Sep 24, 2011 12:56 AM in response to alessandro85by Ron,If Snowleopard hasn't the probem, it's not hardware - it's Lion !
-
Sep 24, 2011 1:01 AM in response to Ronby alessandro85,But Apple does not want you to recognize the problem ... unfortunately. we can not do anything! ignore the problem for months
-
Sep 24, 2011 1:11 AM in response to alessandro85by Ron,The best way for Apple recognition is for many more to contribute to this page instead of just looking and waiting - and hoping. OVER 10,000 VIEWERS AND 147 CONTRIBUTORS . . .
Another alternative is to refer to it in the PC forums !!
-
Sep 24, 2011 1:33 AM in response to Ronby alessandro85,I tried to expose many of the forum but I have simply ignored for months ... I send email to many sites that I know ... I have not even answered ... this is an issue that is constantly covered up .. Ron, what can we do?
