Four-finger swipe between desktops does not work with wireless magic trackpad

The four-finger lateral swipe function in Lion OS to move between desktops works with the trackpad of my MacBook Pro but it does not with my wireless Magic
Trackpad. Any insight?

System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures tab > check "Swipe between full-screen apps" > make sure it says with four fingers. If not, click the down arrow and select the four finger option.

I'm having the same issue in Lion with the Magic Trackpad. Every other gesture works fine except for the four-finger swipe to switch full screen apps.

Added: I just noticed on mine that the four-finger horizontal swipe in Safari goes back and forth between web pages like the two-finger swipe, except without the animation. Also, I have verified that mine is set for four fingers.

I have the same issue and think I solved it. An orginal 27" iMac, brand new Magic Trackpad and recent upgrade to Lion. The four-finger up and down swipes work but the side-to-side do not. I've verified my Trackpad settings.

If I switch the setting to use three-fingers for Swipe between full-screen apps, the three-finger side-to-side swipe works. The downside is the Three finger drag is disabled.

When I set the Swipe between full-screen apps back to four fingers (and reset the Three finger drag) things work as they should.

Solved, I think.

Richard's tip worked for me too, but after a reboot I was back to the same problem again. Repeated the switch to 3, back to 4 (to restore 3-finger drag) and it seems okay. Rebooted and had to repeat the steps again. Rebooted again and cleared my PRAM and it was back to the same problem yet again. Seems to be a bug with the Magic Trackpad. The 4-finger swipe works fine 100% of the time on my MBP trackpad.

Well done richard great stop gap measure. Apple realy need to fix this fast as they will loose credabilty (especally in dsabled community), im disabled and use new mac mini with monitor horizontally above bed using on screen keyboard, thought this would be a great addition ( and it will once they sort it out.) There is also no way, eg pinch n zoom to adjust onscreen keyboard size with magic track pad, if you are going to intergrate gestures they should atleast function completely in all system apps. instead you must switch input devices. To be fair it is the first version, in any OS usually buggy.
