Gestures not working on MacBookPro3,1

Hi there, I am trying to understand if all gestures will work on my MBP? at this moment the three fingers and pinch aren't working. Scroling yes?

I'm a fellow 3.1 user. My understanding is that our track pad is the old style and the gestures will not work. My understanding is that if we buy the external track pad, it will work.

Your understanding is correct. I have the Magic Trackpad that I use with my MacBook Pro 2,1, and it is very nice.

Trackpad too old on 3,1. I bought a magic trackpad for it, works great. Cheers!

I have MacBook 4,1. Still gestures doesn't work. Does they work only with next generation?

Got my magic trackpad and it is working like a dream 🙂 Can recommend it to everyone. It has actually stopped me from buying a new iPad. I got the best of both worlds I feel; MPB + Ipad gestures...and proper working website containing flash.
