Hi,
I run an iMac 10.7 (Lion) and want to operate the ClamXav antivirus software on it, but the dmg won't mount. The error message I am getting is "ClamXav_2.2.dmg not recognized". Subsequently, I've verified and repaired disk permissions, rebooted twice, and downloaded the said dmg anew followed by another attempt to mount it, but all without success. Please, advise. Thank you!

that's some way back. I finally abandoned ClamXav and went with the Sophos AV, which is judged better anyway. No problems!

That is almost always the sign of a corrupted download. Follow these instructions to make sure it is correct. I just did and everything checked out OK.
I worked out (after some research) that Google Chrome isn't good at handling large downloads. Ended up downloading the same file through safari without a problem.
