Itunes 10.4 & G15 keyboard

I'm having the exact same problem.

Updated to iTunes 10.4.0.80 from previous release version, and my Logitech G15 (Version 2) media keys (play/pause, stop, forward, backward) all stopped working when iTunes is in the background. They still work when iTunes is in the foreground. Volume keys still work to adjust system volume as expected.

I was not using any plugins to make the media keys function from the background in iTunes before, so the failure is not due to a broken plugin. Running iTunes as administrator had no effect.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit running on a home-built PC. UAC enabled. Aero desktop turned on.

Having the same issue after installing 10.4.0.80. Have reinstalled both programs, played with all potential settings, but I still cannot control iTunes with the G15 (Version 1) media keys unless iTunes is the active window. The media keys function in WMP just fine, whether or not it is the active window.

Same thing here on my Logitech Keyboard, but it doesn't even work when the window is active.

Same thing here. Lenovo laptop media function keys work only when iTunes window is active. Logitech mouse button set to play/pause function doesn't work at all anymore.

same as me, before upgrade to 10.4 i use the older software

i haven't use a new GamePanel for G15 tho

same here, updated to version 10.4.0.80 and now my g15 media control doesn't work anymore.

I have the same problem since the 10.4. I have a logitech keyboard.

It doesn't work anymore in the background and it doesn't work anymore when my window is active.

I tried the 10.3.1 again and the media controls work again. Apple, please fix this 🙂.

I, too, am having the same problem, but with the K320/B550 keyboard. It seems to affect all external media controls.

same problem too with my G15, it's sooo annoying!

Not even the SetPoint Update got it to work!

Please Apple get out an Update soon!!

I have just updated to 10.4.1 and it STILL isn't fixed even though apple say they have addressed the issue of "some third party keyboard media controls inconsistantly working" ... THIS IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT .. ITS NOT WORKING AT ALL!

Same here. Still doesn't work with iTunes 10.4.1.

I have a logitech illuminated keyboard. Not so special I think? It just uses Logitech Setpoint.

Does work for me either. This is really crap. Oh well I got a good backup media player that works with the keyboard. Winamp is good. Apple just needs to allow winamp to sync with iPod touches. Stupid Apple monopoly.

Got 10.4.1, still having the same issues as before. I am using the legacy G15 software. Tried updating to the newest Game Panel software, but my first edition G15's media keys didn't work at all in iTunes, even if it was the active window.

With the legacy software, still can't use iTunes media functions unless window is active. Very frustrating.
