Hi,
Same here ... what I did is that I moved ALL un-installers to a NEW folder and moved out of the Application folder to a other place where they don't showup anymore in Launchpad.

I THINK NO POSSIBLE IF I DELETE A ICON APP FROM LAUNCHPAD IT DELETES FROM APPLICATIONS FOLDER BUT IT DOEN'T APPEAR IN THE TRASH,MAY IT APPEAR LIKE RECOVERY WHEN RESTART OR AFTER SHUT DOWN AND SWITCH ON THE COMPUTER AGAIN..
YOU CAN GROUP THEM IN FOLDERS TO WASTE NO SPACE BUT IF YOU DELETE THEY DELETE SO YOU SEE..
Thanks,
Once i move the un-installers etc will they be moved off lauchpad automatically or is a way to "refresh" it?
APPLE SAY DOESN'T MATTER WHERE THE APPS ARE LAUNCHPAD KNOW WHERE THEY ARE AND SHOW IN LAUNCHPAD... GROUP THEM IN FOLDERS IN THE LAST SCREEN OR WHATEVER AND DON'T WORRY WITH THAT AND ENJOY LION FEATURES INSTEAD OF LOOK FOR SOME WITH THIRD PARTY APPS..
All your posts have CAPS LOCK on. Please consider switching it off in the interests of all other users eyesight!
alright sorry
Ah, that's so much better. We can hear what you are saying now.🙂
Hi,
As I said ... I did only moved the un-installers an grouped the applications in folder - in Launche pad.
I put ALL un-installers in ONE folder. I think when you ever need to unstaal a application than just drag it back or leave where it is to double clickt it an unstall the application you want.
You can arange Launchepad by dragging IN Launchepad thing around ... like ... Offices for Mac 2011 ... . I grouped Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc in ONE group.
Lauche Launchepad and drag the desired application icons to the ones you like to group etc ... etc.
You will see that a GROUP folder is made with ALL the applications in it that you dragged.
By clicking on this folder IN Lauchepad a sub-banner windowwill open and you can select the application that you like to work with.
I hope I whas clear enough for you.
Good luck ...

For everyone who doesn't want to muck around with terminal commands, or key combos that don't work:
Here's a small and Free app for removing/restoring items from the Launchpad with 1 click:
LaunchpadCleaner: http://zoltanb.co.uk/launchpadcleaner/
Looks good.
Here is another which seems to work well, too.
http://chaosspace.de/dev/launchpad-control-hide-apps-from-launchpad/
The way to do it, is to press all three Control-Option-Command at the same time and click on the app, you would like to delete. 🙂
Drag the app, to LaunchPad to place it back. 🙂
Hope that works.
I followed the instruction from here: http://techmix.net/blog/2011/06/14/how-to-delete-application-shortcut-from-launc hpad/

I followed those same instructions, and my apps remained on launchpad. Holding down Control-Option-Command and clicking on any app in Launchpad just opened the app and didn't remove it from Launchpad.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
PS: I noticed that this Techmix article was written before the release of Lion. Could it be that Lion has "improved" Launchpad by making it impossible to remove icons from it unless we move the apps out of the Applications folder? Please tell me that isn't so.
.
Hi HippopotamusMan,
Unfortunately you can't remove non App Store apps with the key combo.
However, you can use this simple app to remove any apps from launchpad: LaunchpadCleaner
Already mentioned a few posts up.
