Mouse jumping to 2nd monitor in Lion

Yep....having the same issue. Very annoying. I am running a MBP 15" 2.53 i5 with external 24" Dell LCD. Don't have any hot corners enabled. Just tried shutting off the 3 options in Mission Control to see if it help.

I have an iMac (20", 5,1 , 2.33ghz, Radeon x1600 256mb) connected to a magnavox HDTV via miniDVI-HDMI adapter and I'm using a corded mighty mouse. At first I thought it was because of the miniDVI adapter, or the HDMI over cat-6e wall plate I was using to get the video across the room. Kind relieved that I'm not the only one dealing w/this in Lion.

I tried the mission control 'fix', turned off hot corners, I even turned the tracking speed down to see if it helps. Nothing is working.

I'm seriously considering going back to Snow. So much for "It just works".

Hopefully they'll push an update through quickly to fix this.

Ok, this is going to sound like a crazy un-practical solution, but I happened to plug in an old clear single click Apple mouse (Model M5769) with my corded mighty mouse still plugged in, just to see if my mouse was the problem.

Shockingly with both of them plugged into my Apple keyboard (Model A1048) JUMPING MOUSE STOPPED!!!

Im not sure if it's any mouse or that you just have to have two mice connected but this is what worked for me.

I switched the wireless channel from the router to something else (was 1, switched it to 10) and seems to have resolved the problem with the wireless mouse. My cursor was all over the place before that.

Hi jcrandal – this works for me too. I have plugged in my old M5769 mouse into the keyboard and the jumping problems with my magic mouse are gone now.

Ah, no, the mouse cursor still jumps. 😢

Bluetooth wireless and Wi-Fi wireless networking are two different technologies. If your mouse stopped jumping after you switched your wireless network channel in your router, then it was by pure coincidence.

I have tried all steps in this discussion and still have the jumping issue. The problem is on a work computer where we do not have a wireless network running. I would assume there will be an update soon to resolve the issue...hopefully. Rumor has it that 10.7.2 is close to being released.

Same issue here as well. No trackpad, just a standard Magic Mouse and a 27" iMac (with 27" Samsung attached). No hot corners, either.

I am using TotalFinder and it is fine.

If anyone wants to be able to add for more gesture control such as expose desktop etc etc especially for magic mouse users as Apple have provided such little configuration ability try this litte app which I came across a few days ago and it is free.

Same problem here. Thought I was going crazy - if I still am then at least I won't be alone. Really hope this gets fixed soon as I really need my external monitor to make the low resolution screen of the 13" MacBook Pro useable when I'm in the office.

This jumping mouse is driving me batty! With two BIG monitors, that's a lot of real estate to "find" the mouse pointer in all the time. Here's hoping it's in the first set of updates!

Same Problem to me.

I have a second monitor attached to my MBP and have a jumping cursor, if it will be fast accellerated.

Seems like a bug...

Problem solved by switching from Magic Mouse to Magic Trackpad. Effective campaign.
