Mouse jumping to 2nd monitor in Lion

The pointer jumps to the lower right corner of the built-in display, but sometimes also to the upper left corner of the main screen, a 27" Cinema Display LED. This is a MacBook Pro 15-inch (Late 2008) with a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 8 GB of RAM running Mac OS X Lion 10.7 (11A511).

Same issue; my mouse pointer is jumping from the primary monitor to the second monitor on Lion on a 3.06G iMac. I'm using a Magic Mouse but also have a track pad connected. ( The problem happens with using the Magic Mouse while the track page is connected an unused. )

It seems to jump in the direction I've moved the mouse, often more than 1/2 a screen width, often directly to a corner. Since I usually start moving the pointer in a circular motion to the right, the pointer often jumps from the main monitor to the upper-right of the secondary monitor.

The problem does not seem to happen with a wired mouse.

Good to know I'm not the only one. I hope 10.7.1 fixes this rather silly little bug. I will have to dig out a wired mouse to see if that fixes it. I have a MacBook Pro 15-inch (Late 2008) 2.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Pro with a 27" Cinema Display LED.

Same problem. I only have Magic Mouse attached, no trackpad.

3.06Ghz Inter Core 2 Duo iMac with 8GB mem. Second screen is a DVI Philips 21,5" led display.

Hope this problem will be fixed, very annoying!

MacBook Air mit 23" Cinema Screen- pointer jumps occationally from Cinema screen (primary) to secondary screen (MBA).

same problem but wich only one monitor. The pointer jump in my imac 27.

I found that the workaround is to disable all Hot Corners.

Note: I have single monitor, but the same cursor jump is experienced.

For me Thatcher works too. I don't like the hot corners anyway so don't mind disabling it.

Just tried this earlier this morning and I am still experiencing this issue with my MacBook Air hooked up to a 24" Apple Display (MBA is set to secondary display).

The hot corner fix did not work for me. It didn't seem to make any bit of difference at all. However, I noticed that the quicker you start out using the mouse, the more likely it is to "jump" accorss the screen. Turning down the tracking speed did seem to help a little, but it still seems to come down to how fast you move the mouse at first.

Anyone had any similar experiences?

Yup same exact symptoms. Very frustrating.

On another note, has anyone else noticed that the tracking speed of the mouse slows down when on the secondary display?

Same problem here... It's Apple's way of keeping us on our toe's and awake so we stay focused on our tasks! Okay, maybe not...

Hope it doesn't put a stop sign in my summertime...

Update / Possible Work Around?

After getting frustrated this morning I tried a few things. For those of you who don't use Mission Control, I went in and turned off the three "check mark boxes" at the top. I haven't had the mouse jump since. I didn't try one choice at at time to try to narrow it down.

Hopefully this helps others or maybe points to a solution. It was driving me nuts in InDesign CS5.5 and Photoshop. Here's my settings for MC...
