WiFi doesn't restore like it used to after sleep

Before the Lion upgrade, our Macbook Pro would very quickly and reliably pick back up on the wifi network and reconnect.

Since Lion, pretty much every time (can't speak for the occasions my wife used it), it's either MUCH slower to reestablish the wifi connection or it doesn't do it at all. Can be solved by turning the wifi off then back on again, but this is a pain.

Has anyone else encountered the same?

Could it be related to the new config required to provide the 'Airdrop' functionality? (maybe disabling Airdrop would solve it?)

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH LION, SOME PEOPLE ARE LUCKY AND DOESNT HAVE IT.... I DO....

If i have a new MBA, and also have paied for an upgrade, normally you should trust this upgrade,, not experience a downgrade....

And BTW, i have tried at least 8 different fixes i found on the web and nothing works.... my asumptions are very well based, at least more than your agressive-not-helpful post

then reinstall Lion... maybe one of your settings has changed and you dont know it. So many devices connected to the router, but i bet you dont even know what the maximum amount of devices that your wifi could hold. What type of Router do you have. I looked... I only saw your one post... not another post describing your problem. So when you say...

Your asumptions are not well based. I would be more helpful, but you really have not given me any infomation regarding your problem.

I'm really curious why it's taking you 20 minutes to restore connectivity. For me...it's as simple as refreshing a browser page (sometimes it takes a couple of refresh requests).

I mean no disrespect but what the heck are you doing to consume approx. 20 min?

I sent a note off to my local Apple handler, asking if there was any new updates. I have not yet heard from him but will advise as soon as I know more.

Just tried this but no success. Should I turn off/on my iMac rather than just 'sleep' it?.

I have only had the machine for a week after switching from a pc, and it is a fantastic change! However, like people above, my machine will not select a wifi link when starting from 'sleep'. I'm sort of relieved to see that it's most probably not me.

I use a BT Home Hub with only two connections. One to the TV for iPlayer and one to the iMac.

I fixed My MacBook air (OK it's a workaround)

Go to Apple Menu -> System Prefences -> Network

Click the lock in the bottom left hand corner and authenticate using your password.

Highlight the Bluetooth DUN option from the list of connections on the left hand side.

Press the - (minus) button at the bottom of the list.

Shut the window.

Mine works fine now even with the bluetooth turned on.

Hope this helps
