My new solution was to un-install Covenant Eyes. It's working again!

Oct 15, 2011 9:34 AM in response to Boogerby EarthKid,this is funny cause I didn't have any problem with iTune 10.4 at all what so ever but instead I now have problem with iTune 10.5 that I just upgrade to early this week. Oct 16, 2011 11:02 AM in response to Craig-Yby Keyboard man,10.5 Is 10 times worse. Slowed my PC real slow, like a turtlie.
I can't downgrade because in my music/iTune don't have Itune library.itl Even if I was to downgrade if I don't have the library.itl then would not be any benift to down grade for me, I tried all night except going in the Regit, or using Cc cleaner.

Oct 17, 2011 5:37 PM in response to Keyboard manby Nniixx,Same issue here on Win XP SP3, and found it to be caused by Integard by Race River.
No iTunes store and 100% CPU usage between AppleMobileDeviceService.exe and iTunes.exe.
Disabling the Integard service from starting up, running netsh winsock reset and restarting PC and all was right as rain.
As soon as I start up the Integard service, iTunes is broken again.
Even tried adding the following to the list of programs with no restrictions:
AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe
AppleMobileDeviceService.exe
distnoted.exe
ipodservice.exe
itunes.exe
iTunesHelper.exe
mDSNResponder
but it didn't help.
Even disabling filtering by Integard didn't work, I litterally had to disable the service from starting up.
For now I've reverted to 10.4.1 until it's sorted.
Strangely for my laptop running Windows 7 64bit, the update to 10.5 went without a hitch and has nos issues - the laptop is not running Integard though.
At work, running Windows XP SP3, the update failed and I had to completely uninstall all Apple product and then ran CCleaner to clear the orphaned registry entries. After that install worked fine and no issues with iTunes sore or CPU usage.

Oct 29, 2011 9:12 AM in response to D528by richardfromohio,I want to thank you for the information. I was able to remove the entire Apple software set, clean my registry and install ver. 10.0 iTunes. I am running XP Pro and not Windows7 as yet but the instructions worked just fine. I recovered the iTunes library from a drive image backup and just installed the library files. I also install the backup file from C:\Documents andSettings\Richard\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries. I will run ver. 10.0 until I see that this thing is cleared up. I will also do a drive image on my PC before installing any updates.

Nov 8, 2011 2:48 PM in response to ZAYANIby Dan the IT Man,I had iTunes, AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe, and APSDaemon or something (Apple Push) and they plugged up 100% of my resources. I could not access the store, either. Reinstalled in order per apple support many times. Nothing worked
I did this:

Just typed this in the command prompt, rebooted, and it worked!
netsh winsock reset
Abra Kadabra! Good luck all!
