Jul 27, 2011 9:19 AM in response to lebanksby SimonC7,Uninstall 10.4.0.80 by following the exact instructions at support.apple.com/kb/ht1925. I had all of these problems and when reinstalled everything came back and it worked perfectly - connect to iTunes Store, backup, sync etc..

Jul 28, 2011 8:00 AM in response to lebanksby peter151,I have the same problem with this update.
Does anyone from apple read this site?
If people cant get on the app store then they cant buy stuff.
ie apple are losing revenue.... ( feels just like microsoft ).
10.4.0.80 is bad ,sort it out.
Cheers

Jul 28, 2011 8:19 AM in response to peter151by raharris3,I finally got it fixed by completely removing all traces of Apple software from my computer, incl the step of deleting the leftover folders and removing mobile Me, then running CCCleaner to delete any remaining traces of files and the reg process twice to remove Apple products completely from registry. Reboot and reinstall and it worked. I think before there must have been a folder or file remaining that caused conflict.
Why it happened I do not yet know and Apple has not yet replied to my support request, however their fix does work ---JUST BE METICULOUS ABOUT DELETING REMAINING GTRACES OF PROGRAMS AFTER RUNNING UNINSTALL.!!
THANK YOU, D528!

I have three open support requests with them. One dating back almost a month. Don't hold your breath waiting for a response!

Jul 28, 2011 4:08 PM in response to lebanksby Submersible,Installed 10.4.0.80 (will I never learn?) after being prompted today. It's on Windows 7 64 bit. Thankfully I can connect to the iTunes store, but CD burning is weird. When you start burning a disk, a dialog that says "organizing files" pops up and hangs there for a while flashing the titles of tunes that may or may not be in your playlist. The CD burner then goes to sleep and you have to use the task manager to quit iTunes.

Jul 28, 2011 4:44 PM in response to MissMonkeybabyby pheb62,It's not the videos, see my own post here. But it must be related to Windows 7 (32 bit). And it persists after downgrading to iTunes 10.3.
I started with iTunes 10.3 and got some funny effects too, but didn't think about it, as I was freshly installing a new system, and moving my stuff from the old one then - so I upgraded to iTunes 10.4.0.80 right away. The problem was for sure already there with the first version of iTunes I had on it, that was 10.3.

Jul 29, 2011 1:32 AM in response to D528by FluffyPuppy,Can I just confirm/check something...
When you uninstall iTunes and then re-install it again (in a bid to fix syncing issues), do you lose any information such as cover artwork which you've pasted in yourself, or music which you've added yourself (i.e. not bought from iTunes store)?

Jul 29, 2011 2:07 AM in response to FluffyPuppyby D528,FluffyPuppy,
You will not lose your music or covers. Think the music, covers etc are stored on a seperate file on your computer, and this is why you. Now iTunes will ask you questions you have already answered before as if it was new. Although once you answer them then they go away.
