Jul 25, 2011 2:59 PM in response to abbasfromdubaiby Saxman1USA,After several tries, this worked perfectly for me, BUT, you have to follow the directions EXACTLY. I made a mistake because I was in a hurry to fix my computer. I copied the WHOLE {Mobile Device Support folder} rather than just the {SQLite3.dll} file to the {Mobile Device Support folder}. Like I said, I got in a hurry and followed the directions verbatim after the part about the SQLite3.dll file. My computer started perfectly this time. A big THANKS to abbasfromdubai. Two thumbs up!!

Jul 25, 2011 9:14 PM in response to alan169by n5iln,I was able to recover my wife's installation (WinXP SP3) by running a System Restore and then re-updating iTunes. I've had intermittent iTunes Store connectivity issues with both her machine and mine (Vista SP2) since the last update. It's not quite to the point of unusability, but it's close. Add to that the load times on both machines (Adobe Lightroom loads faster by half a minute!), and it's little wonder people are getting annoyed.

Jul 26, 2011 9:22 AM in response to alan169by Jason in Toronto,I am running Windows 7 / 64. Same problem after July 22 update. I first noticed the problem when I tried to sync my iPhone and it hung on the backup. Had to use Windows Task Manager to kill the thing.
The only thing that worked for me is this thermonuclear and very Microsoft-ish solution: delete and reinstall everything. The order for uninstalling stuff is evidently important. Got this answer from a store "genius" fanboy.
- Using Control Panel, uninstall, in this order: iTunes, Quicktime, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Applications Support. I did not uninstall the MobileMe program but this did not affect the fix.
- Now you have to restart the computer. This was encouraging because the error wasn't there any more.
- Reinstall iTunes from apple.com. I saved the installation program and ran it locally. This resinstalled all the other Apple bumff as well.
- When I opened iTunes I got an update notification for my iPhone software. Did this with trepidation, but the backup (which is part of the update) went smoothly. Did a manual sync after just to be sure. All my music is back and all is well again. (note to self: invoice Apple for my wasted time, their sloppy QA and resultant flaky update).

Jul 26, 2011 12:12 PM in response to abbasfromdubaiby jc2son,I tried your solution and found that my itunes and ituneshelper no longer worked. After investigating, I found that I had accidentally moved the SQL dll instead of copying it. After copying it back, everything works fine. So, from my experience with this, it looks like the dll is needed in both places.

Jul 30, 2011 1:23 PM in response to alan169by KeithEllis,HI,
I also have a problem with AppleSyncNotifier.exe. Not the problems as above, but whenever I boot my computer this program contantly uses 50% of processor. Any idea how to fix this?
Regards,
Keith

Aug 9, 2011 11:24 AM in response to Midnight_Voiceby ggianop,There seems to be a bigger problem on a 64-bit OS. Apple can't figure out how MS structures the OS. They install the majority of their applications in the 32-bit programs files "%systemdrive%\program files (x86)\" but they seem to also install an additional copy of the "Mobile Device Support" in the 64-bit directory "%systemdrive%\program files\".
To be clear, you do NOT need to modify the 64-bit version of "Mobile Device Support" directory with a copy of SQLite3.dll; you only need to copy the file into the 32-bit version of the directory.

Aug 15, 2011 9:00 AM in response to Midnight_Voiceby georgiacamo,Just like to thank you very much because I encountered the same problem as Graham but after trying your suggested method of copying 'libxml2.dll' into Mobile Device Support folder, my problem has been solved. Now when i connect my ipod, my iTunes automatically opens and sync. Thanks a million! Have a blessed day

Aug 17, 2011 6:19 AM in response to abbasfromdubaiby marinesoup,Thanks for the simple and easy to understand answer to the apple sync problem.
It worked great for me, although, under my windows menus I have to access my x86 folder to get to my common files.
