Restore bounce to Mail in Lion

Hi,

Does anyone know of a tweak or 3rd party program / patch to restore the bounce button capability?

It seems like I found a possible work around this morning that added the bounce function back via a tweak of the Mark Message as Junk button, but my first attempt at implementing it did not work and I can't find that thread again.

Thanks much!

bounce: To return an email message to its sender as undeliverableis to bounce it. A server may bounce a message, for example, if it was misaddressed or if the recipient’s mailbox is full. Some email clients can also bounce messages, but unlike server-generated bounces, bounces performed by a client contain information that can show that the message really was received.

From Joe Kissell's 'Taking Control Of Apple Mail'.

Some people just don't read, I guess.

For those of you explaining why we shouldn't use bounce: First, don't do that; it's extremely irritating. If we had wanted your opinion on whether or not we should use it, that would have been the question we asked. It wasn't. Second, try to pay attention. Those of us wanting to retain use of the bounce feature aren't trying to bounce back at spam servers, so you can stop explaining why we shouldn't do something we're clearly not planning on doing in the first place. Most, if not all, of us use bounce with individual people--annoying people that we REALLY wish had never gotten ahold of our email addresses. Most of them are morons (as evidenced by their complete lack of common email etiquette--specifically, their insistence on sending us 7 forwards a day, despite our repeated requests to be taken off the list), and haven't the slightest idea the bounce is fake. It works like a charm; get over it. Third... Why are you even here? Don't you have better things to do with your time than to browse forums pertaining to things you have no use for?

Wait, wait... "I know you are, but what am I"? That's the best you got? Hahahaha... I yield, I yield!

Oh, though... "But bounce is gone and won't be returning" ... except that it's not. For the literate, this thread contains two excellent solutions for re-implementing this still-existent functionality.

They are hacks. not a feature of, nor an implementation in Lion. And Maverick, just turn off the email notifications. easy.

mullians missus,

Out of general politeness, I have refrained from asking the following question of you until now. But I cannot hold back any longer:

Do you ever add anything useful to a conversation? So far, all I've seen you do is Troll. Please go find some other bridge to live under and leave those of us who, staying ON TOPIC here, like the Bounce feature and wish to restore it.

You are entitled to your opinion. But please go find some other audience to bore with it. Have a nice life and stay out of mine.

Stefan,

Thanks very much for your efforts. I'll take a look at the installer you so graciously put together and provide you with my feedback.

Best regards,

iMarc
