Graphical issues with 2011 iMac and Lion

I have a 2011 27" iMac (core i7 and AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB) with 2 external displays, most of the graphical issues are present in the external displays but the menu bar, dock and volume popup all appeared distorted on the main display.

On the external display most apps look like this http://i.imgur.com/FQ0AJ.png

there are a few exceptions like steam, safari and itunes, these apps don't show any distortion apart from when being switched the the other displays though, almost all other apps apear disdorted (as shown in the image) on the external displays.

I never had these issues with Snow Leopard but as far as I can tell its some kind of graphics driver problem, don't know how this wasn't spotted in the beta..

Today, I have been watching 720p and 1080p on Youtube and Quicktime without any artifacting or graphic corruption. The only difference from when I had issues was last night I installed the Security Update from Software Update. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1447.

Did Apple sneak in a fix in a security update as not to acknowledge or make known that there was an issue?

It wasn't an intermittent problem with me. I was always able to prodcue it by playing HD vids on Youtube (using Google Chrome) or on Quicktime. I know the Security Update doesn't say anything about the video issue, it shouldn't since it's a "Security" update. But it wouldn't surprise me if Apple snuck in a fix with it because they don't want to acknowledge it.

What I meant is I literally looked inside the security update package. All it is are some certificates and other files to do with recent fraudulent certificates.

Following are the files it changes:

/System/Library/Keychains/EVRoots.plist

/System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain

/System/Library/Keychains/SystemTrustSettings.plist

There is nothing in this update that I see which would fix anything to do with video glitches.

So, I finally got an update from Apple "Engineers" from Apple Tech Support handling my case:

"I got a response from them today. I just tried calling but got your voicemail. It appears that you have 3rd party RAM added to your system. This is likely the cause of your issues. We would like to test with the Apple RAM only, and all 3rd party products taken out of the computer."

Thing is this is the 2nd 2011 iMac. The first one didn't have 3rd party ram installed. This 2nd iMac had issues before I installed the ram. Apple seems to want to put blame on 3rd party ram and apps. The 1st iMac was tested without 3rd party anything.
