Is anyone else having this problem? It's happened twice now. When I try to paste album art into the information file, I get a white square with a blue frame. That turns into a black box instead of album art on my iTunes and iPod. It started when I upgraded to the new 12.2 (?) version. Anyone have a solution?

Having the same problem.
It would seem to be a bug in iTunes 10.4.0.80. You should be able to workaround it by saving as a .jpg or .png image and then copy/paste or drag/drop the resulting file into iTunes.

I tried this again on an album that did not have the black and it worked!!! Thanks! But, how can I get the black square replaced on the albums that it was pasted on with the correct art?
If you paste artwork on to the artwork panel at the bottom left of the screen it gets added to any existing art. Use Get Info on multiple files and you can paste into the artwork panel on the info tab to replace all existing embedded art. For a single file the artwork tab in Get Info will let your add, remove or reorder the images.

Nothing seems to be working for me
Thanks everyone. Saving album art as a jpeg then pasting seems to be working. Hope they correct this glitch soon.
Another option is to paste the album art in Windows Media Player. After doing that the album art in visible in iTunes too.
Are you by chance copying the image from Google Chrome? I had the same problem copying and pasting from Chrome, but the issue was resolved for me when I copied the image from IE 9 (I'm on Windows 7).

you're right, IE works fine. I get the black box with Firefox though.
Black box with both Safari and Firefox. Saving image to computer than drag and drop seems to work but it is a bit much... Hopefully a fix is comming soon.
Saving the picture as a .jpg in my pictures and then copy and paste from my pictures to the get album info album art area worked for me. I now have album art that isn't black.
