Can't Drag and Drop with a Double Tap using Single Finger in Lion?

I installed the Mac OS X Lion two days. But I can't drag and drop with a Double tap using Single Finger, which I used to do in Snow Leopard.

If I choose Three Finger Move, then Swap Between Pages goes back to "Scroll left or right with Two Fingers" that only works with Safari, but doesn't work with Chrome or Firefox. 😟

I tried literally every setting in Trackpad and also checked if there was a override settings and there is no overrride setting.

Would be thankful, if you guys could suggest me what to do? 🙂

Macbook Pro 13" (mid 2010)

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz

4GB Ram

Nvidia Geforce 320m

Mac OS X Lion (Installe on a updated Snow Leopard 10.6.8)

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

check Trackpad preferences, but in Universal Access > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad options!

Hi,

You may try this

go to system preferences ==> universal acces ==> mouse & trackpad ==> trackpad options

there go and play around with available settings and look if it improves things

i selected all the options and notice some improvements using my tracpad

let me know if this works

Hey Serge many thanks for telling me how to do. now its working like previously 🙂

I just cheked the Dragging under Trackpad option and unchecked Three Finger Moves. now I can drag and drop with a double tap using single finger.

After a clean install of Lion, I encountered this issue as well. Serge's suggestion works—more specifically by checking the option, 'Dragging'.

Mouse & Trackpad
Trackpad Options
Dragging

I also suffered from the same problem. The solution offered by 'serge' worked perfectly well for me and 'doubletiger' tidied the explanation up precisely for the specific problem afterwards in case other's struggle in the future. Thank you for the help.

Come on Apple, seriously… have you imployed Windows 8 developers to advise on this user interface?

By all means add the option to Accessability --> Mouse & Trackpad --> Trackpad Options --> Enable dragging… but for goodness sake leave it where the rest of us have found it in every OS since OS X 10.3.
