Quicktime Previews - Gone?

Seems like all my quickview previews of .mov files are not working (even when you hit the space bar). Just getting the quicktime icon with a option to open in quicktime.... anyone else?

so ALL quicktime movies are not showing in quickview. I openned up one in quicktime X then exported it, and then the preview showed up. Obviously Im not doing that for all my movies. Seems like all legacy files are not being supoorted. Even if I do a get info, the preview field has the quicktimeX icon inside.

Meherally - cant find the 'gear' menu....

thx in advance.

thx, no dice. After looking through more movies heres what I found:

All my 'Pro Res' and 'Animation' codec files are showing up blank (black) in quicktime X but are fine in quictime 7.

Photo jpg compression seem to open fine in quicktime X

tried a few things.

Openned a Pro Res movie showing up Black in X and exported again, gave error.

...but the same file openned fine in quicktime 7.

Something is up with Quicktime X, I do have final cut studio and X installed.

I will reinstall and let you know whats up.....
