Unable to turn off FileVault 2 (Lion)

Hello There,

For some reason I'm unable to turn off FileVault 2

Tried rebooting , no luck

Tried diskutils to check permissions and disk , everything looks fine , still no luck

The only thing I can see in the Console logs about this is the following error

23/07/11 17:39:22,910 System Preferences: *** CoreStorage conversion failed with mainError: -69750; detailError: 0

Looked up discussions here and google ... nothing about that either 🙂

That's pretty much it and I'm stuck

Any help would be appreciated

I have the same problem. I enabled FileVault 2, but now i'm trying to disable it and I am getting an error I can't figure out.

I have tried multiple things and none seems to work. The good thing is i'm just testing it with no important data in it.

Well ... As the OP , I can tell you I did not get any solution from Apple for this.

I did not find any myself either.

In the end , the only fix I found was to do a full backup using time machine ... and then restore it (using OSX install DVD).

Good Luck
