I have problem with wake up from sleep.

when i just use my mac, it works normaly

but after wake from sleep, graphic performance

for example i got 70 fps around. in WOW.

after wake, it drops to 20 fps around.

Cinebench 11.5 shows 16fps after wake.

but 30 fps from first reboot condition.

Mac is 2008 2.8 octacore with Radeon 5770

I logged a bug report with Apple at the link above. It's really annoying this hasn't been fixed yet. I can confirm it's not a switch between active/discreet GPU's because I've got a Mac Pro octacore with an HD 5770 (no discrete). Is anyone having trouble with NVidia cards? I looked at activity monitor and there's no drop in RAM performance after sleep, so I'm thinking it has to be a driver issue that needs resolving.

It is definitely not ATI specific as I have nVidia 8800 GS. I would go back to Snow Leopard, but I don't want to lose all the photos, music and app data I've added in the meantime. I guess we'll just have to wait for Apple developers' mercy.

Thank god for this thread, I thought my brand new Mac Mini was a piece of crap until I read this. I was getting horrible performance in Chrome web browser, page rendering, even just displaying menu's had noticeable lag.

So I decided to reboot the system to see if something strange happened and now the whole system is responsive again. I am turning off sleep until I hear about a fix for this.

Still no solution to this. Things tried so far (at least):

-new user accounts

-reinstalling Lion w. restore user account from a Time Machine backup

-reinstalling Lion without restoring anything from a Time Machine backup

-resetting pRAM

-contacting AppleCare 6 times. They gave me a dedicated contact that doesn't answer emails.

-restarting WindowServer

I've done some benchmarking with XBench. That confirms that the problem seems to affect graphics performance, UI and Quartz tests give horrid results after waking from sleep.

However, it does not affect OpenGL performance.

O X 10.7.1 on MacPro 2008 (8x3GHz) with ATI 5770 (had to upgrade from ATI HD 2600 XT to use FCP X).

Potentially similar problems after sleep - very slow browser/app store performance, lot of spinning wheels for no apparent reason.

This was a recent fresh install onto a WD Caviar Black 750GB drive - I trashed an earlier 10.7.0 installation as performance was poor, and have retained my old Snow Leopard boot drive as it's more stable in general.
