Jun 23, 2012 7:26 PM in response to aaronclby H Asseily,I also have the Hot Corners issue after using my Mac for a certain amount of time. It's clear that there is an OS bug triggered by some app behavior. I didn't want to log out to fix it, so I found that the easiest thing was to go to the Hot Corners setup in system preferences (Screen Saver > Hot Corners), switch one hot corner to something else, go back to the original, and hit ok. That will reset the Hot Corners which will work again. You can't just hit "OK" without changing anything, the OS will notice you didn't do anything.

Jul 1, 2012 9:32 PM in response to adburke1by mikesoderstrom,Nothing works for me consistently. I mean, logging out or manually resetting the hot corners eventually works, but it always goes back to not working. It's weird because it's only happening on one of my computers, but it's setup almost identical to my other mac which has had no issues. Grr.

Nov 13, 2013 7:56 AM in response to adburke1by scarro24,I can't find a solid, dependable fix that always works– but I did find two workaround solutions:
Option 1 (Add a screensaver icon to your Dock)
1. Open Finder
2. Press cmd+shift+G
3. Copy and paste the following path into the box:
/System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Versions/A/Resources4. Drag the blue ScreenSaverEngine icon to your dock.
5. Now you can just click the dock icon whenever you want to launch your Screen Saver.
- or -
Option 2 (Adding a "Lock Screen" button near the Clock, in the OSX Menu Bar)1. Open Finder and go to Applications>Utilities, and open the Keychain Access application.
2. In the Keychain Access top menu bar, click "Keychain Access", then "Preferences"
3. Check the box labeled "Show keychain status in menu bar"
This will add a small lock icon to your mac's menu bar at the top. Whenever you want to start your screensaver or lock your computer, just click on the lock icon and click "Lock Screen".
Hope this helps!

Jun 11, 2015 8:53 AM in response to Wan Zhenhuanby alvordr,While this isn't really a direct solution, I tried having the hot corner put the display to sleep, rather than the screensaver and this worked. It also works for when you need it to wake to a password prompt to get back into the machine, assuming you have that setup. The only thing you lose in this is the actual screensaver being turned on. If that's not the big concern for some of the folks out there, then this may help.

Nov 17, 2015 6:25 AM in response to Michaël Betschby vmanfrommidlothian,Just because it works for you every time doesn't mean it will work for everyone, every time. Does not work for me -
I've resorted to a screen saver icon in the Dock.
