Internet connection not working after computer wakes up from sleep. OSX Lion

After upgrading to Lion, I noticed that my internet connection doesn't work when I wake my computer from sleep. I have to turn off the WiFi connection, turn it back on and it will work. I guess this is a glitch that will be fixed later on. Just wanted to point it out. I don't know if someone else is having the same problem? I am not very happy with the upgrade to Lion, things seem to be slower, I've had several freezes requiring to reboot. I guess Lion needed a little more twicking before release. Not worth the $29.99 price tag.

I was having the no connection after sleep problem and did the following

removed my router (a Linksys) from the list available

turned wifi off

turned wifi on

conected to the my router

now it connects after sleeping

For me the problem always occurs if I lose my VPN connection while the iMac is asleep. The quickest fix for this is to put the Mac back to sleep from the Apple Menu (which seems to take a bit longer than normal) and immediately wake it up again.

This problem has returned in El Capitan 10.11.3. Upon waking the Mac google.com doesn't work in safari (although other websites work and ping to google works). Turning WiFi off and on again makes google work again in safari.

My guess would be its either an SSL or DNS bug.
