Everybody settle down about Lion!

Thanks but when your hard drive is losing space so fast you can watch it in the Get Info box and the Apple Store Genius guys tell you to go back to Snow Leopard... well, I'm going to complain.

The release doesn't work on an iMac 3.06GHz. The display driver is WAY messed up. That's not a simple bug, it causes a kernel panic (system crash) it is a MAJOR bug. Enough to render the release completely unusable. On the other hand, don't think I'm missing anything except the for the cool new Mail app.

I'd say: DON'T settle down. Talk about it a lot, generate discussions, evaluate, fight, learn, complain, share opinions. That's good.

Those are isolated issues, the vast majority is not having problems.

LION OS X 10.7 NOT READY FOR BUSINESS!!!!

So from what I gather, everyone should calm down because a couple of guys claim that the majority of users are having no problem. Those that are having trouble should enjoy the amazing features and perhaps import data back from your time machine backups...

Well I can't. Sorry. Cannot get network accounts at all. When I first 'upgraded' there were no network accounts available so I took the advice from this forum that I should unbind with my 2008 R2 Server and rebind. Well guess what - now I cannot rebind with them.

So I look at my backups. Guess what. I cannot connect to my My Western Digital (World) drive that connected so happily before - "The version of the server you are trying to connect to is not supported. Please contact your system administrator to resolve the problem."

This would have to be one of the biggest stuff ups of all time. Clearly this basic functionality (connecting to an MS Network) has not been tested rigourously enough or at all.

Can we have some fixes please Apple and some advice that the fixes exist. I would like to have my expensive Apple computer working again on my network in a 'business as usual' kind of way.

I will in your defense say that my iMac and MacBook Pro

do work just fine with Lion.

And as for Lion being "amazing", I found it to be pretty

underwhelming.

After installing lion, my macbook won't start!!

Never had this problem before with any other update!!!!

I work with iMac 3.06 mhz and it works like a charm. But that's not the point. We should not dismiss each others problems just because it works for me or for you. It's clear that some people have major hardware problems, that did not occur under OS X Snow Leopard. But it's unclear what causes this. There are a lot of people wtih mac mini's having trouble with their HDMI. This must be a problem Apple should adress immediatly, because this is obviously a flaw in the OS.

But what if my iMac 3.06 works fine, while others have a major problems on the same machine. My first thought is it has to do with installing different programs of third party vendors, that destabilizes something in the OS. I don't know what it can be. But that's in my opinion the direction we should be looking. Blaming the OS and dismissing it, won't bring the solution.

I have resolved my immediate problem by removing a non powered up DVI ADC Adapter that was attached to the second DVI socket on the Graphics card.

Reinstalled Lion twice the last one being a clean install. The issue with the graphics driver is still there. Reverted back to Snow Leopard. Again, besides the new Mail, don't see anything worth upgrading.
