I just upgraded to Lion on Thursday, and now I can't open QuickTime. Whenever I try to, I get the message "The application QuickTime player can't be opened" -1712
Any ideas?

I've also just upgraded. I get the same message from Preview when trying to open a PDF file. Most annoying.

Have you checked to see if you have the latest versions?
Adobe reader is 10.1, QT Player is also 10.1

my quicktime is up to date, as is all of my other software. and yet, i still can't open up quicktime and i am getting the same message. any other ideas?
Same here. I never had to download Adobe Reader when I was using Snow Leopard in order to open PDF's - it's supposed to be a built in feature of OS X to be able to click and open any PDF. Now I have to go and use external software (that's supposed to be built in already into the OS X) in order to open my files. I think this is a bug that Apple needs to sort out asap.
does anyone else have any suggestions? very frustrating not to have quicktime when i just upgraded to a new OS!
