Is it bad that I fall asleep with my laptop on my bed every night?

I just enjoy watching netflix, etc. as i go to sleep, so on most nights, I fall asleep with it still on my bed. I do keep it plugged in so it doesn't die, so i'm concerned that is bad for it to go in sleep mode every night. When i wake up , i shut it down. I' m also concerned bc i have dogs, so might i be concerned about the dog hair getting into the "fans" during sleep mode. I do have a keyboard cover to keep dirt and dog hair out . Thanks for your advice, this is my first mac and even laptap for that matter

Hi r,

Letting it go to sleep as often as you want is not an issue.

Setting it on a soft surface like a bed is not a good idea, as air needs to circulate around the bottom of the MBP to keep it cool. Sinking in to the sheets and blankets does not allow that. If you're going to continue, get some type of laptop stand or even just a board large enough to cover the area under the MBP.

The less dust, dirt, pet hair etc. in the area for your MBP to suck into its fans and potentially clog up the airways, the better . . . .
