OS X Lion & BSNL 3G HSDPA USB Data stick

Hi Guys,

I have a 3G USB Datastick (Teracom LW273) provided by BSNL (an Indian telco). They had a Mac OS X Snow Leopard version of the dialer which worked fine. It uses some kind of Qualcom chipset (I have been unable to find a datasheet on it & mfg website points to some spamm website)

I recently installed OS X Lion & the dialer doesn’t work anymore. I have uninstalled & reinstalled the dialer several times to no avail.

How can I get the dialer to work under Lion? Is there a Lion compatible dialer version out there? Does Teracom have a website or contact information anywhere?

Anyone from India who uses BSNL 3G having this issue?

Thanks!

Guys,

I first tried to contact BSNL and ask what their position was on OS X Lion. I got hung up on couple of times when I mentioned the issue & generally was unproductive. That's BSNL for ya!

I then sent an email to the customer care email address listed on Teracom's website & got no reply. Tried calling their phone number only to get the message saying that the phone was switched off.

So, it looks like we are stuck with not being able to use this modem on Lion. Maybe upgrading to Lion wasn't a great idea.

Our only hope is that some other operator in the world issues a Lion compatible driver for Linktop U302 datacard & we can use that driver. (Our Teracom LW273 is a rebranded Linktop card).

Time to give up I guess.

Hi Guys,

I had same problem with Teracom LW273 BSNL 3G Datat card (7.2 MBPS) on Mac Book pro (Mac OS X Version 10.7.5). When contacted with Teracom support centre (http://www.teracom.in/index.php/details/85-other/105-bsnl-3g-modem) at 08322985023.

It is sad to hear that this version of MAC OS is not yet supported by Teracom datacard.

You try your luck by calling them.
