Mac OS X Lion compatible

What I've read, will give Adobe CS4, Adobe CS2 problems with Mac OS X Lion. It is not compatible with Lion. Can you fix it? Apple has not included this Java program. Is that the reason? What is with QuarkXPress or Office 2008?

PPC = PowerPC. Basically OLD Macs, and applications from back then no longer runs in Lion. Adobe CS4 is a lot newer, and therefore compatible.

Diablo 2 and Amnesia will never work either. There is no way to fix this, if you run Lion. When Blizzard launches Diablo III eventually, it will work. THe only thing to do if you MUST play these games, is downgrade to Snow Leopard.

I think that's really a shame that it does not work and never will as soon as you have the Lion.

Does anyone know that it could possibly be fixed? 10.7.1 or 10.7.2?

Such a great operating system and there are not many programs or games. Then it is not a good thing. Itcould have to wait 1 month. Apple needs to fix it. All GL-DocMon/SC-DocMon not work.

No, there will be no "fix." PPC apps will never again run in an Apple OS. If you want to upgrade to 10.7 you'll either need to find updates for the older software, find replacements, or not upgrade. Those are the choices.

Mac OSX used to use a framework known as Rosetta that was able to take applications that were written to work on the old IBM Power PC processors and let them work on newer intel based Apple machines. The purpose of this was to allow for a transiton of people still using older software to evenually catch up with the Hardware (your computer). The technology industry is always changing and getting better. Because of this companies like Apple can only support older software for so long. Apple will usually support things for 5-7 years which to be honest is much longer than alot of other companies will support their own products. Now that the time has passed and Apple has moved forward they will be able to bring more great features to the table and harness more processing power by dropping Rosetta and support for old Power PC software as well as using a truely 64 bit operating system to fully make use of all that great power that computers have in their hardware now. I salute Apple for always pushing forward to the future.
