Incompatible Browser for Safari 5.1 (Lion upgrade)

It's the site's requiements, not your browser.

Go to Safari / Preferences - Advanced. Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar

Navigate to that site. From the menu bar click Develop / User Agent. Try 5.0.6. No guarantees, but worth a try.

Brilliant. Selected Safari 5.0.6 and it let me log in to FAFSA. Thanks for the tip!

After upgrading to Lion I also experienced the exact problem with the federal student loan site.

FireFox worked for a day or so, then it started exhibiting the same error.

I tried switching the user agent as another user suggested, but as he said it was no guarantee. It didn't work for me.

I fixed the problem by deleting the files in my user/library/cache folder.

Since Lion hides the User/Library folder you can access it by holding down the Option key while select the GO menu.

Try it. I'm using Safari to type this message only because actually worked.

I was also having the same problem not being able to log-in on Fafsa.ed.gov. Read what you said above about the "Develop Menu" and followed your instructions and it worked! I immediately logged into my fafsa account without any problems. Thanks again!
