Can't broadcast - error -3285

I have a Darwin streaming server running under OSX 10.2. The server runs well and I'm really pleased with the quality of the H264 movies its serving.

The issue is that I cannot broadcast to it from a 10.4 powerbook.
I have broadcaster 1.5.1 and when I try to connect, I am asked to authenticate. I enter the ID and PW (if i get this wrong, it asks again) and then it comes back pretty quickly after saying Prerolling with Broadcaster Error -3285.

I can't find any reference to this error in the scant documentation I can find and Its really bugging me. Any ideas??

Not sure what the error code means. You may want to search apple's knowledge base.

However, in reply to your question, no you do not need a server to broadcast from one computer to another single computer.

QTSS or DSS is required when you need to broadcast to an audience / large number of clients.

getting the exact same problem. the documentation or searching here on the apple site isn't too helpful. the best i found so far is that it is related to Open Transport in some way.

i'm on a MacBook and was thinking it was perhaps an unnnoticed intel incompatibility since it works perfect with identical settings on both a G5 tower and G5 iMac. but since people are seeing it on non-Intels too... i guess not.

any one get this solved yet?
