Can't reset PRAM

Since my keyboard is acting bizarre (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3206177) since installing Lion, I figured I would zap the PRAM. But now since Lion boots into recovery mode when you hold cmd-R, the cmd-opt-P-R key combination doesn't work any more--it just goes straight to recovery mode. Help!

Hi,

today I lost my bluetooth-adapter after a forced reboot. Fomerly you had to reset PR-Ram. I tried and got the same behaviour than you. I then called apple and they were completely unaware of this. They tried it while I was at the phone and said it worked normaly with their computer. My problem was solved, however, by resetting SMC (see: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3964). Maybe that helps solving your problem as well?

I was having this problem as well. I discovered that I had turned on the firmware password to my MacBook, which prevents resetting the PRAM (as well as a whole host of other things). To reset the PRAM, you have to turn your firmware password off, and then you should be able to do it before booting into recovery mode.
