How do I see "Macintosh HD" in Lion?
Hi,
By default, there is now "Macintosh HD" in the sidebar of Finder in Lion, and I don't know how to get to it? Anyone know? Thanks.

Have you checked to see if you have it checked to show in Finder Preferences? (Hard disks, external disks, etc)
Have you checked to see if you have it checked to show in Finder Preferences? (Hard disks, external disks, etc)
How do you check?
Finder > Preferences > Sidebar
Make sure “Hard disks” is selected under DEVICES. If it shows a “–” then click it a couple of times until it shows a “✓”.
Thanks, guys! XD I got it.
"Sidebar" does not appear in my Preferences window.
I got it now. I was looking in system preferences.
Thanks!
No problem!
I am on 10.7.2 and I do not have a finders preferences, how can I pull up the option to show the Mac HD? the only things I see are view, action arrange, new folder, and delete for any and all finder windows. PLEASE ADVISE!
Move your mouse up to the menu bar - now, can you not see this (you need to click on the Finder and then Preferences):
And, when you click on Preferences, do you see this:
Make sure to check settings under both General and Sidebar........
And, then, go to View menu and down to view options if you want to adjust/personalize the view:
Thank you for this it helped me perfectly.
You're welcome and thanks for the feedback!
