Lion will at random have Spotlight re-index itself

When I originally installed Lion, Spotlight did it's usual re-indexing as it always does on the first run. After resetting the power management on my MBP 8,2 earlier today to see if it would relieve me of my battery woes, I caught on reset Spotlight attempting to re-index itself - but within 2 minutes it just stopped itself without me cancelling it. Between then and now I've shut down my laptop twice, and on the boot this time around Spotlight is re-indexing. I'm letting it run its course, but I am curious to see if anyone else is experience this.

It's a little annoying because it's killing my battery and making the fans go wild.

Just gotten my com last month. Now am getting that too but it just for like less than a min each time. It is also affecting the charging process. When I hook it up to charge, it says it's ntot charging then went back to orange light and start charging. It affects my power source too, before OS Lion it can last for about 4-6 hours now it's only 1 hour and will need to charge again. I suspect that there must be something running coz the fan went berserk and consume so much power.

Some guys are discussing this issue which has not benefitted me. Will need to call apple later. Hope that yours ger fixed soon.
