Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Does anyone know for sure if the new 2011 MBA 13" uses an IPS display or the lower quality TN. Electronista seems to think they use the cheaper TN panel.

I also read it's a TN panel, albeit one with excellent viewing angles. Apparently due to the display needing to be soooooo thin, current-technology IPS panels didn't fit the bill for it.

None of Apple's notebooks use IPS screens. They are all TN, and the Air is no exception.
Not sure about the current crop of Apple laptops but the pre unibody MBPs did use IPS display. So I'd like something that compares well to the screen on my MBP 4.1.

The screens of iPad and iPhone4 are all IPS, they are all sooooooooooo thin, in fact. -_-~
