SSD Kingston hangs my MBP

Hi i have a MacBook Pro 15" 2,53 Ghz mid 2009.

recently i upgrade my MBP with a Kigston SSD v+100 128 Gb SVP100S2128G, but with the new SSD the system freezes too often,

copy data from an external usb drive to the new ssd is very long, it starts coping data, then hangs for a minute, then coping again, really frustrating.

I've alredy send the SSD back, thinking that was broken, but the behavioiur of the new SSD is the same.

With Lion is more evident than Snow Leopard, really don't know what to do.

Any help will really appreciated.

Hi

sorry again,

after 1 day of test i can say that the overall situation is better, but still have problem,

for example when extracting software or coping files from other sources..

example:

i was listening to music on itunes and started to copy 8Gb iphoto library from usb drive to SSD,

after 4 gb the itunes music stopped for 10-15 seconds (and the transfer file too) and then started again.

everytime i try to write something to the SSD,

i should try to force the SSD to sata I, will try to search on kingston forums.

Do you think is an Apple problem, i mean of the controller or Lion o Snow leopard?

thanks again

Yep. I'd try forcing SATA I and see what happens.

I tried to lookup how to do this but the Kinston support section doesn't actually contain support. It's just a sales page with marketing info & how the performance rates blah blah... It say's to contact them f you didn't find an answer.

So punch a call through to Kinston and ask how to set jumpers to force SATA I if possible. Or what is an alternative method to force slower speeds.

Also of interest, I read some user's have reported a fix by mounting it in where their SuperDrive slot is with a mounting bracket. But who knows.

And yes it's the controller / EFI Firmware.
