iPad "contacting printer" but no longer printing

I have an HP Photosmart Prem C410a & it used to print just fine from my iPad. The printer still functions from my computers (Mac & PC). Have restarted the printer with no change. On my iPad, the printer still shows in printer list & when you select 'print,' it shows "contacting printer..." in a popular, but it doesn't ever make contact. Have to cancel the popup to move on. Problem began when trying to print a photo & the printer screwed up. Afraid it's in the queue still, but cannot get to a printer app. Double-tap shows the few apps I leave open, but no printer app. How do I get my iPad to make contact with my printer again??

Lwinters-

You haven't changed WiFi routers lately, have you?

If the Print Queue is not among your recent Apps, the printing process never gets to the point of creating a print job. In other words, you may have a network problem.

I suggest you unplug the printer and WiFi router for a few seconds, and then plug them back in. In the iPad's settings, go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will probably need to reconnect the iPad to your WiFi again.
