Is iPad 2's screen radiation safe for my 3 months old baby?

Considering the distance of my ipad 2 or ipad while my baby is watching on it. about 2.5 feet away, does it affect or is it safe? Did apple conduct studies into this instances? But my baby really loves watching her favourite nursery rhymes through youtube using iswifter app.

I just happen to wonder so I am asking this question as i didn't find something that i can use to hold the ipad for my baby and i created an ipad holder that is vice-attachable to my baby's crib. See the picture below:

I tried looking on ikea if they have this kind of thing but they don't so i just created one. Now, i came to wonder if ipad's screen radiation is safe this way and if apple have conducted a study about this.

Please let me know soon.

Thanks,

Eggs

I don't think Apple could have envisioned a set up like yours so I think it's unlikely that they tested the iPad for this. Kudos to you for your creativity and your ingenuity. Your baby should be absolutely fine with your set up with regard to radiation. I think the bigger concern would be the self made iPad holder coming loose and the iPad dropping on the child.

By the way, there is a YouTube app on the iPad that is pre installed.

There is no danger of radiation from the iPad. It's just like sitting too close to a television which isn't really a health risk, just a bad habit. There's no substitute for tangible physical objects for a baby to interact with as they are discovering the world for the first time. They are stimulated by bright colors and sounds, but when they are so young, they can't process a movie yet. I have a newborn, and i believe the best thing for her to hear is my voice, my touch etc...

Pretty interesting idea though

There is no "radiation" (as with a CRT or nuclear material) coming from the iPad.

On a more personal note, I'd be more concerned with using the iPad as an entertainment device as opposed to letting the child learn by exploring their surroundings (even if it's just touching and looking around), especially for such a young child.

Watching movies requires zero creativity or interaction.

Very cool setup btw.

The iPad does not have an 'old fashioned' cathode ray tube, when there was some concern about potential X-radiation from the electrons in the tube hitting the screen. The iPad has an LCD-type screen that emits no perceptible radiation. In addition, like all modern electronic equipment, it has passed all the necessary international standards for electromagnetic emissions. As far as can be ascertained, there is no danger from extended use of the iPad.
