Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I have three desktops, no fullscreen apps open. Everything was well for a time, but then, this:
They appear in the order 1 - 3 - 2. In normal view going right from 1 moves to 3, going right from 3 moves to 2. Opt-N still goes to the right number. This seriously freaks me out. Anyone else seen the same? Anyone have a fix? Should I submit a bug report?

System preferences > mission control > uncheck "re-arrange desktops after use" (or something like that). That should do the job.

Oh, it's the second option under Mission Control in System Prefs. Ridiculously unintuitive!

it rearranges them to put the most recent ones towards the left
system preferences, mission control and untick auto rearrange
I cant see your screenshot, but have tried on mine and 3 moves to 2 if its used more than the app in space 2

Thanks for the help. I also had the same problem. Tried the intuitive method of trying to drag desktops in mission command view to no avail.
Agree feature is so bad it's definitely a UX bug. Should be fixed. Nobody wants the default except some apple dev.
