Reducing PDF File Size Using Preview

Hi All,

Trying to reduce the size of a large pdf file. "Quartz Filter" pick in Preview (Snow Leopard) is no longer available in Lion.

Tried making new filter in ColorSync Utility and applying, but file size is still not reducing, in fact it increases. Any advise out there?

Thanks.

Strange one that. Reduces somewhat here, if at all. Look, Apple has never EVER been good with PDF files. If you want to do editing of PDFs and you are serious about it, you have to bite the bullet and get Acrobat Professional / Acrobat X Pro. I know it's 199, but it's the best tool for editing PDFs. Preview produces a substandard PDF at best. This goes back to a longtime rift between Adobe and Apple and it's like the Hatfields and McCoys and will probably never end until one buys the other out in the far distant future. Well, good luck!
