Since upgrading to Lion, I get the following message:
You can't open the application Adobe Reader Updater Helper because PowerPC applications are no longer supported.
I migrated from a PPC Imac to an Intel based i5 in February. But, this error just started after Lion upgrade. How do I stop it from continuing to pop up? Help!
I am getting the exact same dialog whenever I login. Has anyone addressed this yet?
You may simply need an update, check Adobe's site to see if their app has an update your machine would benefit from.
First stop I made was to Adobe & downloaded the latest avaialble version, installed it & restarted. Same message. Clearly, there's an application named Adobe Reader Updater Helper lurking somewhere, and if I could find it I would delete it. Anyone who can point me towards where it might be?

Look in the Applications folder and look for folders with the name Adobe in them.

I updated Adobe Reader right after I migrated to the new mac book pro.
I need to finish the last post. I also migrated a PPC G4 Powerbook running 10.5.8 to a new MBP running 10.7, and got the same Adobe Reader updater helper message mentioned at the beginning of the thread. I did the Adobe Reader install, with no change on the error message, and couldn't find the item to either disable or delete. Any way to get rid of this bogus error?
OK, so the "Captain Obvious" solution is to open the Applications folder & drag the Adobe Reader app & the Adobe folder to the trash. Empty the trash. Restart & reinstall everything from a freshly downloaded version. This has (so far) made the annoying message go away. I'm still not sure what the root cause was, so I'd call this Partially Solved.
removing the .plist in /User/username/Library/LaunchAgents with "adobe" in the name resolved this issue for me.

Has anyone tried this lately with system 10.7? I cannot find those folders with LaunchAgents - I found /User/username/ but not library. Is there a ulitily that finds hidden files?
In Finder's menu bar , choose Go, then "Go to Folder..." type in the path above.

I'm having this issue having migrated from a PPC Mac running 10.5 to a new iMac running 10.7.3. The /User/username/Library/ fix does not work because there is no library under the username in 10.7. I found a file under Macintosh HD/library/launch agents but deleting this had not effect. The message keeps coming back. The issue is not fixed.
OK I've now found out how to find those hidden .plist files. You have to choose "Go to Folder" in the finder, then type the path and click return while holding down the Alt key. Two Adobe .plist files were reveled within Lauch Agents, both with long filenames. I've delted them. I'll see if the message comes back.
