Why can't I copy/paste album art in latest version of iTunes?

I have the latest version of iTunes and I am unable to copy/paste album art from the internet. Whenever I try to copy/paste album art from Amazon, it just displays a blank box. I was able to copy/paste album art just fine before the last iTunes update. Any suggestions?

It's a bug with iTunes 10.4.0.80. If you copy and paste from some web browsers or an image editor then iTunes pastes in a transparent image of the same dimensions. This shows up black in the artwork panel at the bottom left or white in the get info art viewer.

If you work with an image file stored on your computer you will get better results. Use the artwork box on the Info tab of the Get Info. dialog for multiple tracks to replace all existing images. With a single track you will need to delete the existing corrupt images from the Artwork tab first.

Just found this problem too. An even quicker workaround I found was to paste the artwork from Safari into the Artwork tab from Get Info. The artwork appears for me in this Artwork window, but when I click OK to close, the artwork is not shown associated with the song. If I choose Get Info again, the artwork appears like normal.

I guess this method is helpful in that you don't have to save each image first and then delete it later.

Artwork seems to cut/paste in my situation, but does not "attach" to the file so the icons appear as generic in a list view or when viewing the file using "get info". Also noticed that cut and paste does not work for text in the comments window either, especially if the copied text contains style changes (underlines, etc.) or hyperlinks.

Also, if importing AIFF files into iTunes, the song that plays upon import (usually the highest numbered track) will not accept artwork no matter what, unless you convert to another file type (like AAC). The only workaround is to make a copy of the last song, rename it with a higher track number, then import both at the same time. Then just delete the higher numbered track. This has been an on again/off again problem for at least the last 3-4 versions of iTunes.

Same problem here. <sigh> Every time I swear I'm not going to upgrade when everything is working, but to be honest, do you really expect Apple to break something as simple as this?

They also changed the shortcut key to switch to the mini player from CTRL-M to CTRL-SHIFT-M. I don't know why; it's not like the remapped CTRL-M to do anything else that I can see.

Thanks for the suggestions on how to work around the copy/paste issue, I appreciate it. Saved me some grief.
