Display Bezel Problem

I have a Macbook Pro that was purchased in May 2009.

I have just noticed that the display bezel is starting to come away from the Aluminium body when i close the screen causing it to sit up from the keyboard by about 10 mm when it is supposed to be closed.

Went to the "Genius" Bar at local Mac shop and i was told that he had never seen this before and that they would do nothing about it.

I just find it hard to believe that this would be their response to a problem that is obviously a manufacturing problem.

I can not be the only one that has experienced this.

Has anyone else had this problem and how was it resolved????

Looks horrible, like it has been affected by the hinge action.

Seems like they would have more constructive feedback.

I have the same problem with my late 2009 MacBook Pro. Unfortunately it became an issue almost immediately after the 1 year warranty was up. I am bookmarking similar problems that other users are having, so that hopefully Apple will admit that this is a defect in the product and fix it. I have seen other postings that they already do, however, some people are still being told that it isn't. If anyone else has this problem, please post it here to go on record.

Hi Scott, I have the exact same problem. I got this in San Francisco in Nov 2009 and the problem just started. I have logged a call and was told to go to a Genius Bar. Unfortunately I am no longer in SF and there is no GB here. Will be visiting a authorised service provider. Hopefully they will display the unit - my applecare is still valid. Will share how it goes.
