The default setting is to use three fingers to swip.
ha, allegedly. Invariably it just moves the window around for me. Hope raminm has better luck. Note: in chrome, going back and forward with 3 finger swipes works perfectly!
Please check your trackpad settings - it is possible to have multiple gestures assigned to the three finger swipe -- it sounds like you may have the setting for Three Finger Drag checked under the Point & Click section of the Trackpad preferences. If you apply the following Trackpad Prefrence settings you should be able to use three finger swipe in Finder:
Trackpad>Point&Click>ThreeFingerDrag:Un-checked
Trackpad>MoreGestures>SwipeBetweenPages:Checked-Scroll left or right with three fingers
