I've followed the instructions in previous threads about downloading the correct version of QT 7 and opening it in the Utilities folder, but it still quits "unexpectedly" on launch.
Anyone got any ides to solve this problem generated by installing Lion other than the already mentioned one?
Quicktime 7-OTHER, Mac OS X (10.7)
i am having the same problem, and anything that uses the old quicktime like imovie crashes as well. i even tried reinstalling imovie and quicktime 7.6.6 and it still happens
Josh, I found this solution elsewhere thart worked for the iMovie problem:
Hi
Called Apple support and they had me remove the Prefs files without going through Terminal as follows:
In finder
Click Go from menu bar
Click Go to Folder
Enter ~/Library
Click Go
In Preferences select com.apple.iMovieApp.plist, and com.apple.iMovieApp.plist.lockfile
Drag to desktop
Restart
Launch iMovie - all should be well :-)
However, in my case that was not what happened so I repeated the process above again but before launching iMovie I moved all of my iMovie Projects and iMovie Events from the Movies folder to the desktop.
On launching iMovie this time all worked well - obviously there were no events of projects in there.
Am going through the process of importing each in turn - I guess one must have been corrupt or the filepath incorrect - who knows.
Suffice to say I have iMovie up and running once again :-))

thanks for the effort, but i have tried it and it does not work.
here is the jist of the error that any program related to quicktime 7 gives me when it crashes

I went back from Lion to SL.
I second this description but have not yet found a solution. And I don't see going back to Snow Leopard as a solution 😉
Same Problem here.
But I think it's since the latest Update "10.7.1".

Yup .. same problem here .. I've tried everything short of re-installing Snow Leopard.
It's a shame ... I use QT 7 Pro almost daily.
If anyone has found a solution please let us know.
