My bluetooth wireless keyboard's special keys will not work with my iPad. Last week, the same buttons worked for my friend's iPad.

My bluetooth wireless keyboard's special keys will not work with my iPad. Last week, the same buttons worked for my friend's iPad. I'm specifically referring to the iPod buttons of play, fast forward, rewind, and also my volume and brightness. Not one of these keys are working. My iPad is up to date and I'm actually wondering if this problem is a result of the lates iPad software update since the keyboard worked well two weeks ago, but I updated last week.

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.3

Nope, (at least for the Logitech Keyboard Case by Zagg). I updated my iPad to the latest iOS and the special keys on my bluetooth keyboard work fine.

A System Reset cures many ills. It's easy, quick and harmless:

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.

A System Reset does not remove any apps, music, movies, etc. nor does it cause any settings to revert back to default.

Also, you might wish to download the iPad-2 User Guide. Pay special attention to page 162. Note that this Guide also applies to the iPad-1 with IOS 4.3 except for those functions that are not supported by the hardware.

Finally, the User Guide can be downloaded at no charge via iBooks and a less comprehensive version of the Guide is included as a Safari bookmark.

Yes i have the same problem....i am on 4.3.3 and bought the latest Apple bluetooth wireless keyboard, i notice that the F3 and F4 key are now changed (support mission control in new Lion mac OS, i supposed) so basically the keyboard seems got problem....due to hardware changed???

Another thing is mattfrommaine mentioned the same keyboard worked for his friend's iPad....i would like to find out 1) whether the iOS version the same??? 2) whether it is an iPad 1 or iPad2..... i suspect problem only occur for the combo of new Apple wireless KB + iPad 2 + 4.3.3 @@ how anyone able to verify this with Apple support?

Ok i had this same problem with my ipad2 and iphone 4. i have resolved my problem since. there are 2 different keyboards apparently for the latest A1314 model. on the upc label theres a 2nd model or production name or whatever. its on the top of the label. but its MC184LL/B which is the latest model made for the new Lion OS. There is also a keyboard with MC184LL/A on the label. now if you dont have the box anymore, the biggest giveaway to tell them apart is the F4 key. on the (B) kb it had 6 small squares for mission control. and on the (A) is a symbol for a dashboard dial for the dashboard laucher for the previous OS. Both keyboards work with ipads, but only the (A) model function keys will work.

i had to call around and find the (A) model, most places had the nestest model (B). so good luck. i found it at a radioshack.
