Ram - ECC/non ECC; Buffered/Unbuffered?

Can someone enlighten me as to these differences in Ram?

Dual 1.8 G5 (8 Ram slots) Mac OS X (10.4.4) Purchased April '04, Final Cut Pro 4.5

Your Mac uses unbuffered - non ecc - ddr 400 - pc3200 ram. Go to Crucial.com and use their Mempry Advisor Tool to select your machine. They'll list all the upgrades and there will be a link called "what does this mean" click that and you'll find all the answers. Even if you don't purchase ram from them it's a great site for reference.
