So, I can't get the filters folder from jerome because mobileme no longer exists. Is there any other way to get to those files? I need to take a 156MB pdf down to under 50 with good quality. When I used the filter in preview, the graphics were noticeably fuzzy on the edges. Any suggestions?

This is the one I downloaded and it works great. See my previous posts. I use the 300 average quality.

Look at the latest updated source I posted in July (just above your post). That one works and it is really easy following the instructions in the blog.

Just posted a question on reducing the size of PDF files (after doing a search to no avail...!!!) then read the 'more like this' links to the right of my own thread and read this thread and your post...

Downloaded and uncompressed the filters folder, added folder (with contents) my library folder on my HD as instructed, followed the instructions you posted on here and it all worked fantastic.

Create my own Filter by selecting "Live update from file inspector". To reduce the file size I just added File Compressing with JPG and quality at about 75% this reduced the file while leaving the quality very good with a factor 7.
