Ever since I upgraded to Mac OS X Lion the folder called MacOS opens after I login to the admin account (my primary account). If I use my wifes account (who's a normal user account) it does'nt happen.
I find it rather annoying I always have to X out that folder before I start using the computer 😟
Please fix this Apple!

As you have determined, the problem is isolated to your account, which means there's some setting somewhere on your account that is doing this. First, check System Preferences -> Users & Groups -> Login Items. See anything weird on that list?
Also, where is this MacOS folder? Hold down command while clicking the name of the folder at the top of the window and it'll pop up a menu showing where it is.

Looks like you were on right track, since I reinstalled Steam for Mac it appears as it had set the Steam folder to open at login. The strange thing is though that it was the MacOS folder I always saw appearing...
Since I now have deleted it as an login item I have'nt seen it popping up after login.

Same thing for me. The Steam folder was set as a logon item.
yeap, go System Preferences --> Users & Groups, hit Login Items on the account having the problem, and remove the steam folder from there.
Sounds like Steam set up a login item to open steam on log in, but they failed and only set it to open the enclosing folder. MacOS is in every application bundle and is the folder that holds the application executable.
