Keyboard input not recognized in Flash games on Safari

I test games for a casual gaming website, and I currently discovered a bug in which none of the keyboard hot keys are recognized when playing the game in Safari. All mouse events are recognized... just not the keyboard.

I'm fairly certain this is not a bug in the game, as it only happens on ONE (out of three) of my test Macs. It also only occurs in Safari (5.1). Playing the same game on the same computer in Firefox (5.0) or Chrome (12.x) does not reproduce the problem.

I've tried clearing browser and Flash cache, reinstalling Flash player, downgrading to a previous version of Flash player, and installing all available software updates. Still no idea what could be causing this to happen in only this one machine and not others (both with the same version & build of Safari, as well as Flash player).

Any ideas???

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Safari 5.1 (6534.50) w/ Flash v10.3

I'm having the same problem - Flash Player in Safari is simply not registering keyboard input in the Flash SWF I'm currently working on. This is a major problem.

I know there's been a bug in Safari for years that would cause the same behaviour, but a restart of Safari always cleared it up. Unfortunately that doesn't do the trick anymore.

The Flash movie works great in FireFox 5.0.1 & Chrome 12.0.742.122.

My relevant system specs:

OS X 10.6.8

Safari 5.1 (6534.50)

Flash Player 10.3.181.34 (Debug player)

2011 Macbook pro 17" i7, 8GB RAM

I have the same problem - The keyboard input is not working for several sites when using Safari but works fine on Firefox.

My specs are

OSX 10.6.8

Safari 5.1

Flash Player 10.3 and also reinstalled with 10.2

iMac 20inch

Problem persists with different versions of Flash Player.

😟 This problem started 2 to 3 days ago, maybe after installing OSX update.

But my MBP works fine

OSX 10.6.8

Safari 5.1 (6534.50)

Flash Player 10.3

MacBook Pro 13.3inch

Actually, two of the computers I've tested on (one that gets the bug and one that doesn't), they both have exactly the same OS build (10K549) installed.

I've since tried repairing my disk permissions and logging in under a brand new user account, still with no luck.

it has to do with the safari update to 5.1 and the combination with the flash player debugger (from version 10.3).
