Uncaught exception raised in Open Directory client-side plugin.

Hello gang,

I am trying to change some password options on my Open Direcotry server using the Open Directory section of Server Admin.

I am free to check boxes; however, when I click "save," I see the following error:

⚠ Uncaught exception raised in Open Directory client-side plugin.

Sorry but the feature you tried to access cannot be used. Exception is:

In updateDescriptionFromConfigurationView: NSInvalidArgumentException -[__NSCFDictionary setObject:forKey:]: attempt to insert nil value (key: locales) .

When I click "OK," my settings are reversed to their previous values. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I figured out, after some days trial and error on lion server, to just:

-add a new user newadmin in workgroup manager / server.app

-make it an admin in user tab in workgroup manager / server.app

-logout original admin

-login newadmin

-go to server admin -> opendirectory tab

-make settings (it should work without any error)

-logout newadmin

-login admin

-check server admin -> opendirectory tab

does it work?

This workaround did not work for me. I am receiving the same error stated above even when performing this:

Is there another way to get this error to stop?
