Invited events disappear from iCal

Since the Lion upgrade certain events are appearing and disappearing at irregular times in iCal on the Mac, even though they are always visible on my iPhone and on the web via MobileMe. These are only events that I received invitations to. Any event I created myself is always present. Any thoughts on a resolution?

I actually don't use MobileMe at all. I closed the account and have transitioned to Google Apps - so I do believe this is an issue with iCal and perhaps Mail 5.0. Regarding the issue, I have noticed that once I refresh the calendar manually by going to iCal > Calendar > Refresh All, the invite appears again most of the time. Just very odd that clicking the actual invite .ics attachement in Mail 5.0 causes the invite to appear in iCal for a second, then dissappear.

I just discovered the same issue, my iCal syncs with Google Apps, and the invitation shows up with a grey dot, the top shows 'Updating' and it dissapears, i found the only way was go offline(pull out ethernet), double click, accept the invite then go online again.

it then updated and the event remained in my list.

pretty serious bug?

thanks to a quick google search i found this post so i know im not the only one (shared pain) 🙂

Not 100% related to this post, but I can't find a similar one anywhere else. I'm accepting the ICS invitation via the mail client on my iPhone. The event then shows up in Google Calendar, but then less than a minute later it disappears. This just keeps happening over and over again. Does anyone have any suggestions for things I can try?

I have a client with a similar issue. She has iCloud (mobile me) account used ONLY for email really. Her Claendar and Contacts are stored on MS Exchange accounts. On iOS, no issues. On her Mac, when she receives an invite to her @me.com account, she wants to accept it and store on her Exchange account using iCal. She clicks 'accept', it opens iCal, and the even dissappears. Sometimes they come back on there own. No issues on the iOS device accepting and saving on different account.

Anyone get an answer from Apple?

Ditto.

Memory 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74) - iCal Version 5.0.1 (1547.4)

Talking to: Exchange 2010, gmail calendars. No MobileMe or Google Apps sync at the moment (although I have tested both w/ similar results).

I'll be submitting bug report w/ log data as well. I figure though the more this is posted, the better. This bug makes working in iCal quickly and efficiently all but impossible. Takes me an average 10 - 15 minutes to babysit it through an update of 3 events. Not practical for work.

Same here. Lion 1.7.3. iCal Version 5.0.2 (1571)Click on invite, it shows in iCal then disappears. Does anyone from Apple actually review the forums?

The workaround is to quit iCal, click on the invite which brings up the event in iCal, then Accept or Decline. One painful thing about this, at least for me, is that the event doesn't show in the "inbox" in the upper left. It just shows in the right slot with a gray circle to the left. You need to know where it's going to show - easy to miss in the Monthly view.

Weird thing to slip through QA. I haven't been blown away by Lion's "stability". Feels a little less baked than Snow Leopard.
