Parallels Desktop 7 ??? Are you beta tester ? If you mean 6 then download the latest build (which was updated a few days ago), it works for me quite well.
I have lost a word document using Office 2011 and the OSX Lion - problem detected: all the formatting has changed to over 100cm for left margin and we dont seem to be able to change the margin setup - Has anyone please got a tip for this?
Btw, tried converting to pdf, printing, other formats but nothing sorts it out.
Thanks So much!
You're off topic. What does this have to do with Parallels?
If you can't start Parallels after Lion upgrade do this:
Open Terminal and past this 5 command lines one after another. After pasting first line, sudo command will ask you for your user password, so you have to enter it and press Enter (only after first command):
sudo kextutil "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/prl_hypervisor.kext"
sudo kextutil "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/prl_hid_hook.kext"
sudo kextutil "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/prl_usb_connect.kext"
sudo kextutil "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/prl_netbridge.kext"
sudo kextutil "/Library/Parallels/Parallels Service.app/Contents/Kexts/10.6/prl_vnic.kext"
The kextutil commands fixed the parallels driver problem for me, using Parallels 5. BUt I still got a network driver error and am unable to connect to the network. I reran the netbridge command and will try rebooting and updating parallel tools...
Thanks Maks.
Unfortunately it appears the kextutil commands have to be reentered everytime you reboot.
Got a fix for the network guys...
once you follow the instructions above and get parallel to open, look at the lower bottom of the Parallel window and you should find two buttons, when you hover over it it should say configure and coherence.
Click the arrow pointing left on the configure button and hover to network adpter (looks like a spider web)
click it and on the drop down menu make sure it is using the bridged network setting and bridge it to the airport.
This should allow you to have wireless internet access through parallel..
thanks! it really worked for me as with the new parrellel i believe i had to install windows again.
I just need help, if any one may sugeest how to bring the shortcut of launcing windows to the desktop as it got deleted and every time i have launch a window app and then restart windows. any solution for double clicking and launching windows?
I am having the exact same proble,. Parallels tells me to download parallels 7 but the cost is $80. Any suggestions
Never heard of Parallels 7. Haven't seen anything on it. But Paralles 6.0.12094, the latest version known to me, works just fine with Lion, as did the prior two release versions.
I am REALLY starting to get ticked off. Went to launch wndows7 in Parallels6 after updating to Lion. It wont do it. I go to download updates for Parallels and then try to launch the update and it says it cant because I need Leopord or later! last time I checked, 10.7 Lion WAS later! this is REALLY starting to tick me off. I will use Bootcamp before I shell out another fifty bucks to upgrade to Parallels7!
The new Parallels 7 works great with 10.7.2 on both my
2009 iMac and 2011 MBP. I do have 8 gig of RAM in
both, which may or may not have an effect. The Lion
integration features seem to work quite well. BTW,
Parallels 6 was working fine with the initial Lion release
after their updates.
I will say I am running Win7 32 bit. Unfortunately some
of the hardware I use has yet to have their drivers
updated to 64 bit which is why I still run 32 bit.
As a reference, I use the Win7 VMs for some pretty
heavy duty engineering design from schematic capture
to FPGA simulation and programing, MATLAB simulations
and various other hardware/firmware/software development
for embedded devices.
